Xbox 360 and Fable

I just redownloaded the original Fable game on my Xbox 360 because the first time I downloaded it, I got a screen that said: redownload the game and if it has the same problem to contact Xbox Support. Well I had the same problem to where the game will not
start. The data looks like it hasn't been corrupted but I am still having problems. What can I do so that I can play the game?

Note: this is not the "new" Fable game i.e. Fable Legends, rather it's Fable Anniversary which is an HD remaster of the (extended version of the) original Fable and is being released on the 360.

Will probably get this to play on my brother's 360 as I really enjoyed II and III

Best suggestion is:

Delete the game, download it again, do not start it.

Clean your Cache. How to clear the Cache. Press the Guide button on the controller, Settings, System Settings, Storage. Highlight but don’t select a storage device, and then press Y for Device Options, Clear System Cache, Yes

Start the game again.

 

Does your Xbox 360 have an official Xbox hard drive installed. If not, then that will be why the game will not work. Xbox originals need the hard drive to play. I am assuming the version of Fable is the original xbox version and not the re-released anniversary
edition for the Xbox 360.

 

It is the original, not the re-released. And I have an official 250 GB hard drive for my 360.

I am currently attempting Nightly Suicide's idea, will notify you guys if it works. Until then, please reply with any ideas you guys have in case clearing the cache does not work.

 

Or did you mean a hard drive that was meant for the original Xbox?

If that is the case then no, I do not have that. My hard drive is a 360 hard drive.

 

Yeah, I meant an official xbox 360 hard drive. Just wanted to check did you buy the hard drive seperately or was it already installed when you bought the console?

Did you buy the hard drive brand new or was it purchased used/from a third party like ebay?

 

I got it via third party on Amazon. But it had not been opened.

 

What did the packaging look like, did it look official or did it arrive in a plain box/packaging?

 

The packaging was like if I had bought a store-bought version

 

If anyone has any other ideas, I have tried everything but buying a brand new hard drive since the last post? If not thank you I guess I'll have to get a new hard drive.
