    Xbox 1 x shutting down. When booting back up it said it had a ventilation issue


    As subject. My project scorpio xb1, shuts down while playing destiny2. When booted back up it said I had a ventilation issue. I can safely say that there is nothing blocking the vents, plenty of space around the xbox and no viable blockages. The xbox is not been overused and been well taken care off.

    Oh, I'm I'm the preview beta.

    Anyone any ideas?

    My xbox powers off after 5 seconds or so of it being on. I'm pretty sure it might be a ventilation problem. How do I fix it without sending it to repair, and if I have to how much will it cost?

    Ventilation will not cause it to shut down in 5 seconds

    Most likely it's a bad power supply that fails when it ramps up past the initial boot

    You will have to send it in for repair

    Ok so it is a game issue and not a hardware issue at all? I was looking at previous threads on this and one was claimed to be a hardware and and stated to send in the Xbox for repair. I just had this start happening today and it’s occurred 3 times already. And to be clear it’s not just crashing to the dash board, it’s fully shutting down my Xbox series X. Everything up to date and open ventilation.

    Nope nothing has been moved or touched for the eighteen months I've had it since new and it's been rock solid. I only picked up on this issue yesterday when I first turned it on and while it was booting ejected the disc to put in another but as I said in
    the previous post it does it around the time the power light fades and kinect kicks in and it's not an instantaneous shut down as the power light flashes up and down like a normal shut down. Maybe others could try theirs at that boot stage to see if theirs
    does the same thing.

    I had this issue a few times with GamePass games. I shut down my console, unplugged the power cable for about 15-20 seconds from the back and then booted it back up. It worked for me.

    I am having the same problem with NBA 2K20 and only this game. I can't get passed halftime in a game without the my Xbox One X completely shutting down. When I turn the Xbox One X back on, I get a message that it shutdown to prevent overheating. The console
    is in a well ventilated open space.

    I have zero issues with any other game or app.
