As PalmettoBling mentioned you should send your console to Microsoft for a repair.

Power issues can be a very big concern and safety hazard. I would recommend starting a support request
at the Microsoft Device Support page to have the console repaired or replaced.

I would say your repair shop is correct. Even if the device is out of warranty, the Microsoft Device Support channel will still perform the repair/replacement and present the cost of what that would be. So you can go through that process and have the
device repaired through Microsoft channels, which will provide a warranty for the work they perform (though not extend warranty of the device, just a guarantee the repair) or have it repaired through a third-party, which is something you'd have to weigh against
for guarantee of work and if you feel safe with their repairs.

Do not use anymore the console.
