    Xbox 1 Wireless controller dis/reconnect

I’ve had this issue for a while even after endless research and attempted fixed. I even contacted support directly, still no fix.

Issue: Wireless controller disconnects and reconnects frequently, sometimes as often as every few minutes.

I’ve tried buying a brand new oem controller - same issue. I’ve tried all fixes and I’m pretty convinced this is NOT related to software. I’ve tried something today which, for now, is working.

Reset console (as in erase everything accept games/apps) so it’s like a new console. As well as this I am now using an Ethernet cable rather than WiFi to connect to web.

It’s worked for over an hour so far without the pad disconnecting.

I’m shocked that Xbox / controllers have this issue as I do not have any related issues with my other wireless tech?

    :)

    Xbox 1 Wireless controller dis/reconnect

Hello TomNK, my name is Vanessa, and I would be happy to help.

Your case seemed curious to me since it happened to me, so I will provide my help based on what I did since I investigated about it and in the end I had three problems which were the configuration and compatibility as well as interference. This can also be due to a variety of factors, including:

Interference from other wireless devices, such as phones, routers, or microwaves.

Problems with the wireless connection between the console and the controller.

Problems with the hardware of the controller.

In your case, you have tried all possible solutions, including buying a new controller. The fact that the problem persists even with a new controller suggests that the problem may be related to the console or the wireless connection. You can even check the compatibility of your controller with your console.

The solution you found, resetting the console and using an Ethernet cable, is an effective solution but nevertheless investigate for yourself the pros and cons since nothing is better than having everything verified by yourself.

Resetting the console is an option but this is up to you as everything since this does not guarantee that this will solve the problem. If you do not want to reset the console, there are some other things you can try:

Move the console to a place where there is less wireless interference.

Try using a different Wi-Fi channel on your router.

If you have tried all of these solutions and the problem persists, you may need to replace the console or the controller.

Here are some additional tips to help prevent your Xbox One controller from disconnecting:

Make sure that the console and the controller are up to date with the latest firmware.

Keep the controller away from other wireless devices that could cause interference.

If you are using the controller with a battery, make sure the battery is fully charged.

I hope this information is useful!

Here are some more detailed reasons for these mentions, which as I said solved my problems since once everything was fixed I found out which devices caused interference with my controller.

    Details:

    1) Interference from other wireless devices:

Wireless devices, such as phones, routers, or microwaves, can interfere with the wireless signal between the console and the controller. To reduce interference, try moving the console and the controller away from other wireless devices. You can also try using a different Wi-Fi channel on your router.

    2) Problems with the wireless connection:

Problems with the wireless connection between the console and the controller can be due to a variety of factors, such as problems with the hardware of the console or the controller, or problems with the configuration of the wireless network. To troubleshoot these problems, you can try resetting the console or the controller. You can also try updating the firmware of the console or the controller.

    3) Problems with the hardware of the controller:

In some cases, the problem may be due to a problem with the hardware of the controller. If you have tried all of the other solutions and the problem persists, you may need to replace the controller.

    Additional tips:

In addition to the solutions mentioned above, there are some additional tips you can follow to help prevent your Xbox One controller from disconnecting:

    A) Make sure that the console and the controller are up to date with the latest firmware.

    B) Keep the controller away from other wireless devices that could cause interference.

    C) If you are using the controller with a battery, make sure the battery is fully charged.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.

    Best regards,
    Vanessa.

    Headset or Controller problem

    Hi braelynnfiedler,

Firstly is your headset wired or wireless, if it is wireless you will need to reconnect it to the xbox after a reset as the xbox has now removed anything that was connected to it, if it is a wired headset then maybe try disconnecting the controller and reconnecting
it again to see if that helps.

    wired xbox 360 controllers

Okay. Here's a list of what I did to try and trouble-shoot the issue.

1 - Turned off and unplugged XBOX 360. Plugged in 3 Microsoft brand wired controllers into USB ports on the back. Plugged in XBOX 360 and powered on. All 3 controllers show Player 1. Unplugged each controller individually at the in-line release/breakaway
connector and reconnected. No change. Each still shows Player 1.

2 - Turned off and unplugged XBOX 360. Plugged in 1 Microsoft brand wireless controller into USB port on front (I know it's a wireless controller but this one is used and the rechargeable battery is completely dead and won't hold a charge.). Plugged in
3 Microsoft brand wired controllers into USB ports on the back. Plugged in XBOX 360 and powered on. All 3 regular wired controllers show Player 1. Wireless controller that's plugged into a USB port shows as Player 2.

    Thanks.

Controller works when no batteries in but when connected wirelessly gives up?

Basically, I'll turn on the Xbox, the controller will work for a few moments, then the console stays on, and the controller just dies this works on any of my controllers. If i remove the batteries of the controller and plug it in via a micro usb cable then
fully turn off the console then turn it back on, the controller will stay synced and working. If i put the batteries in and use wireless it will work for a few minutes then the controller stays on, fully synced but the controller doesn't work...

The batteries are 4 different sets, 2 cheap ones, 1 Duracell and 1 set of rechargeable ones that work perfectly on my pc.

All 3 normal batteries are brand new, but this is the same on both controllers.

The wireless keeps disconnecting me now as well.

If connected to the wireless i can use the app to control the Xbox perfectly
