    xbox 1 S no party option


    my xbox was working fine to about 2pm(gmt) to day then my xbox totally froze playing gta 5.. had 2 hold the X button on the xbox 2 restart it.... when it booted up (which took longer than normal) it seems 2 have done a small reboot.

    it booted like it was the first time it was turned on. my recent play list and install list was wiped and my game list was changed to a-z instead of size first.(does these every time i restart the xbox)

    i have just noticed that my party is not working, cant join or start a party, the party button is faded out and says party encountered an error, every thing is working fine multi player works...

    ive restarted the xbox 3 times and done a full restart(unplug) and every time i restart it installs a store update.......

    the xbox said update pending but now says successful

    any 1 else having this problem??

    Sinestro5    ,

    Thank you for reaching out to Xbox forums support. If you haven't already done so, go ahead and try performing a Soft console Factory
    reset     on your console by doing the following:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console. [KEEP MY GAMES AND APPS]
    Make sure you have both your email and password on hand as you will be asked to sign back in. There is an option to delete everything and to save your games and apps; choose the latter. This will
    reset the Operating system [OS] of the console and allow you a fresh start-up.

    Both parties must set each others account as Home.

    For example party 1's xbox must have party 2's account as home. Party 2's xbox must have Party 1's account as home
