xbox 1 rig headset cannot get it to connect to my new controller no sound no mic

Tried new headset. Seems xbox won't recogonize it. Tried putting in my old headset which I had sound on but no mic, now no sound no mic for the other controller. Help

Xbox headset works with one Xbox, not with another, but plugged into the same controller.

I have a new Xbox, that came with a headset.

When the headset is plugged into the new controller it makes the sound that it has been detected, however, I cannot speak through it nor hear sound.

However, when I load up my old Xbox, and connect the same controller and headset, it works perfectly.

Any ideas how to get it working on the other Xbox?

Lost Headphone sound, no wireless controller volume controls. mic always muted

Pretty new Xbox One S (3 months or so), but somehow my headphone sound is gone. I have tested with both iphone ear buds (they used to work plugged directly into wireless controller) and with a new headset with mic, and neither is working, but the sound works
for both when connected to other devices. I cannot access volume controls on wireless controller either. I have followed just about every guide out there with no luck.

Also, I've never messed with a mic before this new headset, but the mic icon on the Xbox is always muted, even though the mic is enabled in settings, and on from headset itself. (All privacy settings are pretty much allow everybody)

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have the exact same issue.

Only I'm using the new Elgate Capture Card HD60x

On the xbox series x I'm using a Logitech-G Headset G433 Zwart.

When I unplug the headset from the controller I can capture teammates mic sound.

As soon as I plugin the headset, it stops capturing teammates sound.

In the Xbox party chat, passthrough and "speaker and headset" is selected.

(when using the Elgato chat link, all works, but I don't want to use the anolog audio, but the HDMI audio. I have a separated Mic connected to the recording PC for my voice. I only need the mic connected to the controller to communicate in the game).

The Xbox console does not support USB sound devices or USB headsets.

Only headsets that plug into the Xbox controller are supported. Be that 3.5mm jack headsets (CTIA standard) or the chat headsets with a USB-similar-looking
plug that goes into the wide connector of the controller.

Also there are specifically licensed headsets that connect wirelessly directly to the console like the

Plantronics RIG 800LX

But the only
headsets that have an USB connector use that connector to get USB power to their wireless transmitter, but no actual sound is transmitted over that USB cable.

@wotan this might sound dumb but I cannot find headset mic.

@medguy29 I'm going to try a new controller tomorrow.

@dol I'm using the Xbox mics that came with the Xbox one. The really crappy ones.

@purplenurpe I tried this and I still have the same problem.

None of those troubleshooting steps are appropriate to my situation. As evident from the fact that sound plays out of other connected listening devices, there is no issue in my sound settings; and I cannot change the volume or similar, as the device and
accessory settings are not acknowledging that there is a headset connected (and there is sound when connected to other headsets). I am aware that this option appears below "buzz" in the device and accessory settings.

It is not that the mic is not recording, or that sound is not coming through the headset, it is that the controller won't recognise that there is anything plugged in when combined with my headset (even though it can recognise other devices, and the headset
is working).
