    Xbox 1 double beep and knocking sound.


    Hi i've been having some issues on startup. Everytime i turn the console on it beeps, then beeps again and loads me upto a black screen with 4 options.. one of which is to continue which i usually try which then just loads to a black screen.

    my usual short term fix for this is to mains reset the xbox which then allows me to play but from here, any game i play the console starts making knocking sounds.

    any advice would be appreciated! the console was bought in 2015 so its had a relatively long life without any problems but this also means its not covered by warranty anymore. looking for a fix im able to do on my end!

    1080p on 1080i Television Error. Please Help

    Press and hold eject and console button you will hear 1 beep you will hear another beep after 10 seconds keep the buttons pressed until you hear that second beep.

    the console will be in low res mode 640x480.

    Go into settings Display/sounds video options tv resolutions.

    Xbox 1 double beep and knocking sound.

    Perform a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.


    If that doesn't work you should probably contact support directly to set it up for a repair. Contact Us | Xbox Support

    and pass on your idea.

    i use my xbox everyday but i use headphones this stops me from annoying the wife while shes in bed, i dont even need them on my ears while on dashboard but it blocks the sounds perfectly.

    i got my xoones off amazon £40 brand new a few years ago now. lots out there at some great prices. black friday coming up...why not grab yourself a bargain ;)

    To be completely honest, I don't mind the dashboard noises at all. It helps me make sure my volume/audio is set correctly before launching a game or hopping into a party! Granted, I do see your point and frustration with not having the option available
    whatsoever.
