Xbox 1 controller not connecting to PC

What battery are you referring to? Are they actually re-chargeable?

The Xbox One controller should work on a PC while wired with or without a battery. If no battery is present, the USB port itself will power the controller.

As for ports, it won't matter what port you use. While there are indeed different types of USB ports, the Xbox One controller will work on any USB A port as it only needs USB 2.0 which have been standard for over 15 years now. All USB ports are backwards
compatible with previous versions.

There could be an issue with your controller cable. Have you tried a different one? For the controller to function when wired the cable must be able to send and receive data. Any USB to Micro USB cable rated as a 'Sync and charge' will work with the Xbox
One controller. Other than that the port on the controller could be damaged.

Hello AjisakiTsuritama Have you by chance tried to connect it through your Bluetooth settings? Also Make Sure You are plugging it in
the right place. There are many USB Ports on the PC and Some work for specific Items. They Picture on the USB port is small, so you would have to look closely. If none of these work for you then we will go back and try something else. Then I would need to
know Pc Info just to make sure it will actually work for your PC.

In that case, let us try to check the following troubleshooting:

Power Cycle controller:

1. Press and hold the Xbox button for 5-10 seconds, until the controller turns off.
   
2. Wait a few seconds, then press and hold the Xbox button again to turn the controller back on.
   

Update controller:

1. Install and launch Xbox Accessories app.
   
2. Connect controller with the USB cable.
   
3. Check if there is a pending update for the controller.
   

Try to use the controller to a console:

1. If you or your friend has a console, connect the controller to the console.
   
2. Sync and see if you can use the Xbox Button.
   

Try to use the controller on mobile/other PC.

do you have the wireless xbox adapter for pc plugged in (needed for wireless connection), or are you using bluetooth on the pc (needed for bluetooth connection to the controller).

1. USB C cable

2. Bluetooth

3. Wirelessly using the xbox wireless adapter for windows 10 (about 24.99 from retailers)
