Xbox 1 connectivity

I’ve recently started using an Ethernet cable to connect my Xbox to the internet and it was working fine but now every time I turn it on it won’t let me connect to Xbox live, and I have mess around unplugging cables and restarting to get it working any ideas how I can fix this issue?

Ok but will the voice features still work without it hooked to my cable box or do I need to get a dif cable box with hdmi ports ?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

To investigate further, please try to connect the Ethernet cable on a different device such as PC, or Laptop just to check if there will be an issue or not. If it will work on a different device it may mean that the issue is the console.

If there is no other device and you have other Ethernet cable, that would be great to use in testing it as well.

What you need to do is call comcast and upgrade to an HD package. They will send you a new silver box which will have a HDMI port on the back. Then you would hook that up to your X1 and your X1 to the tv and voila, you can control your cable through the
kinect

@ DARK, since the subject is open and you sound like you might be able to help, I'll ask here. I also have Comcast. I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD box. Here's the issue.

When they first installed this cable box, the TV I had didn't have HDMI inputs. It only had the Y/Pb/Pr inputs so that's what they used. Since then I've gotten a better TV with several HDMI inputs but I just never messed with trying to use an HDMI cable
since it still has a really good picture with the other inputs. So what I'm trying to find out is; what do I need to do if I want to switch from using the Y/Pb/Pr to HDMI? I know the box has an HDMI output so no issue there, but will I need to access any special
setup menus?

I've actually done a little research on it and from what I've found, I think I could do it myself... but most of the settings I want access to after initial setup seem to require me to use a 'settings' button on the remote. Problem is, my remote doesn't
have a settings button. The closest thing I have is the menu button and it only lets me in to some very basic settings, not the more advanced ones.

Any suggestions? I'd rather not have to call Comcast just to swap out cables... unless I have to. lol

BTW, I haven't tried anything yet, just checking into what might be involved.
