    XBO controller not found in Accessories app.


    I have an XBO I'm trying to use on my Windows 11 PC. I've been using the bluetooth connection just fine on my PC. I tried connecting it to my Steam Deck and ran into issues. The controller connects on the Deck's side, but the controller remains in pairing mode. I read that I may need to update the firmware using the Xbox Accessories App. When I install the app and connect the controller to the PC via USB, nothing shows up on the app and the page still says "connect a device." The controller vibrates when I plug it in, but it doesn't appear to be connected to the PC. I have the latest windows update on the PC and it seems like the latest drivers are installed if I check Device Manager.

    What am I doing wrong? What else can I do to connect my controller to the PC so it can update? I'm working on the Deck's side of troubleshooting while I try and update the firmware.

    Addition: I found the app on the windows store but when I connect the XBO controller via cable it just shows me that there is my controller and doesn't give any further steps to update the controller's firmware!

    The Adaptive Xbox controller is supported but the Sidewinder 92626 may not be. The supported joysticks and accessories are located on this page:

    https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories     They are all plug and play, the ones on that page.

    It would be best to customize the adaptive controller through the Xbox Accessories App with supported accessories. Some details on how to do it can be found here: https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/controllers/customize-adaptive-controller-in-xbox-accessories-app.
    There are also links to groups on the page that have setup suggestions for the controller as well.

    Can you open the Xbox Accessories App on your PC and review if your controller needs a firmware update?

    In case the Accessories app is not installed, you can open the Microsoft Store and install it from there.

    Make sure to not move the cable or the controller when starting the update if one is found.
