I'll have to give that a go, tidyaddictdan. I agree that the interference seems to occur more frequently during louder scenes, and is especially noticeable when playing games. I don't know if replacing the console will help as I'm on my second console and
the issue remains. My brother also picked up a new 1TB console recently and he's suffering from the same issue, unsurprisingly.

Mister Quimby, your silence continues to be damning. It only points to further proof that Microsoft are indeed aware of the issue, but can't seem to fix it, so they're hoping it goes away. We're still waiting for your response, advice, help
and attention on this. We've basically all been doing your job for you!

I sincerely hope that you are gathering all this information people are providing and putting it to good use. If you are, then I honestly believe you can fix this problem as there's a lot of important discoveries here for your technical team to test, consider
and replicate.

 

I've just seen that Xbox Support have locked one of the biggest threads where people have been suffering from controller disconnects/audio issues. Wow. The cover up job is definitely in full effect! -

I swapped my Xbox One to brand new Playstation 4 two weeks ago largely because of this issue and bought Sony Wireless Headset 2.0 for it. I have the PS4 in exactly same place as Xbox One was and there is zero issues with the headset. No interruptions, cut-offs,
crackling etc. Just crystal clear audio, not a single problem. I even returned my router to its former place (i had moved it because of Xbox headset audio issues) and switched on wlan (which again was turned off because Xbox audio issues) and guess what, no
issues, nothing. Everything works. Also, the controller has not lost connection to console, not even once.

There has to be a hardware issue with Xbox One controllers / headsets. Someone messed up when designing wireless communication between console and controller, and now MS is not willing to admit that there is a issue. As said before, I find it unacceptable
that such a simple basic thing cannot be done right. This is exprience ruining matter, no less.

Hey Mr products. Unfortunately tried xbox music again and was experiencing the dropouts. And is such a shame that even purchasing a new xbox doesn't help. Can you tell me if you and your brother live in the same place? My last idea is that maybe it's the
electrics in my flat that is causing this. I am going to take my xbox round a relatives and try there. If it still happens I can rule it out as the wiring is brand new there.

If nothing works i am just going to send the headset back. Sadly only recently sold the chat headset but would rather buy another and not worry about the game audio dropouts. Will definitely think before getting another Microsoft console. May even sell up
and get a ps4 as we seem to be having no luck even getting an answer out of Microsoft.

 

Also might be going mad here but here goes. When I shake the controller up and down or side to side fairly vigorously with the headset plugged in, it seems that the audio dropouts increase massively. Can anyone else try this and see if this occurs with them
as well. If not am defo losing the plot haha.

 

Hey tidyaddictdan, thanks for replying and for letting us know your discovery. Such a joke that nothing works.

My brother lives in the countryside and his house is basically brand new - they've recently done all the wiring etc as it's been redeveloped. I live in the city, so I was hoping by moving away to his then it would be interference free. Sadly that was not
the case. Also, his new Xbox does the same thing. So that rules that out.

Totally agree with what you said about the audio dropouts increasing when you move the controller around. That definitely makes the issue worse and is ultimately a great way of testing whether it's happening or not. As far as I'm concerned it can't be a
loose connection or a fault with the adapter, as I've tried multiple controllers which all suffered from it, and it does it on the new ones with the headset jack as well. I think that the Xbox One loses track of the already weak signal when it is being moved
around so the drops become more noticeable.

Can't blame you for wanting a PS4. Seems like it has worked out for Skeptikko so why not. I don't play on my PS4 often but I may end up investing in a headset for that now and gradually move away from the Xbox One as my primary console. It's getting that
bad and I'm absolutely sick of it. The fact that Microsoft refuses to address the issue says it all really.

onto something here.

It should not be such an effort to get someone with some standing in the xbox community to address this issue directly. I have seen plenty of posts about it on reddit. Major Nelson frequents reddit and I have mentioned this issue in the comments of posts
he has replied to hoping to get an answer. Unfortunately all that happened last time was that I was downvoted. Sadly I think some people are full of blind faith and fanboyism.

If nothing happens soon mind I will attempt to get a refund on the headset. The headset is not fit for purpose given the current situation and as such I would be well within my rights to request a refund under consumer law.

Unfortunately it got downvoted to dust on Reddit but there are a lot of people coming forward now (after the typical "it doesn't happen to me so you're lying" responses). I'm hoping we can make it a sticky post so we may find a fix one day. I know that this
thread will inevitably get locked, just like the others, so I thought it would be a good idea to take the matters into my own hands!

Once again I want to thank you on the behalf of all of us with this issue. To take the time to write an article about it is above and beyond really. Means that even if they close this support thread the issue is documented and visible.

I understand the frustration and apathy after the glacial response from quimby. If this was on twitter it would be handled with more urgency as it's highly visible and companies want to appear helpful.

I still hope a solution can be found and feel that we can accomplish that if we band together and make out voices heard.

I understand you're frustration. You guys have endured this far longer than I, and it is already wearing rather thin.

After seeing the steps you guys have taken without success I really am out of ideas.

The one thing I do know is that when playing forza 5 there is one place where it is consistently bad. One of the challenges is to drive around the top gear test track knocking down bowling pins. There are hundreds of pins and I have noticed that when you
start knocking them over the audio pops and drops increase hugely. Simulating all those pins being knocked around is an intensive task and the fact the audio drops coincide with this makes me think it is not as simple as interference from external sources.
I am not knowledgeable enough on the workings of the xbox to speculate what the cause might be. However I do feel that its not merely coincidence. If anyone has noticed the same thing then it would be great if they could post to confirm my findings are not
isolated.

 

I wish Microsoft would update us on this issue. There are thousands upon thousands of us who are experiencing this, some with less of a degree and some with a much worse degree. The problem here isn't on our end, its without a doubt on Microsoft's. I
don't know what they did, but I hope that they do recognize this problem. It's been months now...

 

Hi guys. Having the same problem. Replaced my Turtle Beach XO Fours only to find the new ones are doing the same thing. Even though the included adapter is a Turtle Beach variant, it still uses the same Microsoft C\controller firmware. Contacted Xbox
tech support and they were very polite and are replacing my controller. I am hoping this fixes the problem but based on what I'm seeing here I am not so sure. Anyway I will keep everyone posted. I have noticed that plugging my controller into the console
via usb seems to prevent it from happening. I have also noticed that it seems less likely to occur when the batteries are fully charged. I suspect that the adapter may be drawing too much power from the controller... but I am only speculating here.

 

Hey highsierras. Please can you post to say if the replacement controller works. I am waiting on a replacement adapter and have been told that if that doesn't work they will replace the controller. The thing is, I have read plenty of posts stating that replacement
accessories and even consoles hasn't solved the issue, so am not overly keen to go through the same steps if it is futile.
