    XB controls all mini genies (directv)


    I have an Xbox One hooked up to a mini Genie (DirecTV) and when I try to control the television, it controls all mini genies (not the main).

    So, when I change a channel...all mini genies change to that channel. Or pause, play, etc.

    Got the update and woo. DirecTV works perfect with the Mini Genie being hooked up to the XBOne! This is great!

    It is NOT fixed in the preview. Every update I get for the preview I check it but still not working. (Directv mini genie)

    Does you Xbox series X get warm on the side when in stand-by?

    Mine is in instant on mode and is slightly warm on the sides also. I don't see any issue as my Directv 4k mini genie and even Roku Ultra also are warm while not in use but in standby.

    If you don't have any problems with your Series X I wouldn't worry about it.

    Just as a point of reference the Directv mini genie runs about 138F while in use and the Roku Ultra shows it is an incredible 172F most of the time. I have had both for a few years and no issues at all.

    Paul from Xbox Forums Team here to help assist with the issue, it looks like the Directv Genie is receiving the full command functions when you press them. Now in regards to the controller problem is it the controller that came with the Directv device or
    the Xbox One wireless controller?
    Sorry, its the Xbox One wireless controller. I like to use it to fast forward, etc. Sometimes it gets it on the first try, but sometimes it have to press it twice for the Xbox to send the command to my mini. Is it an Xbox problem or the mini?

    So, you used Live TV successfully for 2 weeks with the DirecTV Mini (Genie Extender) and it worked great.

    Then you moved it to another room with the DirecTV genie in it and now Live TV doesn't work? Are you seeing a black screen? A "no signal" message? Something else?

    If you can better explain the symptoms, I can help you troubleshoot a bit more.
