    So due to a combination of availability, cost and impatience, I recently acquired an Xbox series S. whilst enjoying it so far, it has made me think about my X360 disc collection and my wish I could play some of the games that are compatible but no longer available to buy on the store (most notably Ace Combat 6).

    I was therefore wondering if there are any alternate ways to access a digital copy of the game on a Series S as I believe despite the delisting, you can still initiate a download using the disc.

    One option I was wondering was if I log with my account onto someone else’s Xbox Series X and then insert the disc does that mean I can then download and install on my Series S? Or is that just a pipe dream?

    No. If the games have been delisted, there's no longer a way to purchase them digitally. You'd have to use a console with a disc drive.

    Even if you were able to install the game using your disc on another console, the disc needs to be in the disc drive to prove you own the game or else it won't run.

    Currently, the backward compatibility program of X360 games is paused. Microsoft is focusing on the backward compatibility of XBOX One games on the XBOX Series X. Have some patience, I think more X360 games will follow
