X box not functional after an update

Power cycle the Xbox and your network. Unplug the power from the Xbox and then unplug the power from your network and let everything sit for a few minutes. If you have anything plugged into the USB ports on the Xbox, remove it.

Power up your network and when that's back up, then power up the Xbox and try the update again.

There are two Console Reset options -

- Reset and REMOVE everything or

- Reset and KEEP MY GAMES AND APPS ( it does remove the accounts from the xbox but you can add those back)

You might try and see if you can try the Reset and KEEP MY GAMES AND APPS and see if that helps.

If you can't get to the Console reset screen, here's the steps to try to get to the troubleshoot menu and choose the reset console.

You'll have to use the d-pad to navigate around this menu

Check to see if you can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter
Depending on how recently your Xbox One console was last updated, you may be able to perform an offline system update using the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. To see if this option is available on your console, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.
2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
   
3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
4. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the
   EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the
   Xbox button on the console.
5. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
   BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter, if available:

model is x box one s, its not powering up to x box home screen to start with,

tried power resets, ejects etc, last it was updated and thereafter system failed.

my issue was when updates are not constrained by region although software updates, the same affects functioning,

not providing technical support out of warranty is an unfair trade practice but the number of users/gamers there are u just get it repaired if you find someone who can or have to go for a new one coz nobody bothers after a certain time as even wisdom says that after all its material

To update:

This morning I did some more forum searching and found instructions for how to delete the problem system update.

From Settings -> Storage:

Press LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X. Then delete system update. After doing this the update redownloaded, applied, and now functions correctly.

The xbox one does not support the dvr function of cable boxes as of now but a lot of people are asking for this function and hopefully it will come with a future update. Until then you'll have to use the remote that controls your cable box.

Check this Microsoft support site System update solution. Choose the option that's similar to your issue and follow the steps in order.
