    X-Box Capturing (All Apps)


    Alright so, with the X-Box game bar, I can clip in-game sounds + my mic (which I don't use).

    However, I can't record all my apps because there's no audio when I do use that option (which I want to be able to do, so I can clip discord sounds when my friends talk).

    My sound input and output on the game bar are set as my defaults, as well as actual sound settings.

    Any help with this issue?

    I have tried both and it hasn't worked.

    I downloaded Windows 10 from Microsoft, did a reset on my laptop (no files kept) as the grace period of backing out of Windows 11 was long gone. Windows 10 has been better at running my games because of the lowered RAM usage.

    In what specific apps is this happening?
    Only discord?
    I ask this because the game bar doesn't record all the sound or video depending on the app.

    A good example of this is Edge , if you try to watch something on Edge and you start recording. The game bar hides the video.

    Or if previously that was possible, do you known when this started to happen?
    And what did you tried so far to fix this

    I see, do you have access to another Windows 10 PC?
    If yes, try recording something there to see if the same happens
    This helps to isolate the issue a bit more

    May I know how did you go back to Windows 10?

    Did you downgrade to Windows 10 via settings?

    In the meantime try this to see if that helps:
    A. Reinstall the game bar via powershell command
    Right-click on the Start button and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) from the pop-up menu.

    Copy and paste the following command in PowerShell and hit Enter to uninstall the Game Bar from your system.

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage

    Now head over to Microsoft Store and search for Xbox Game Bar, install it and give it a new try

    B. delete the registry keys associated with the game bar :

    Press Windows key+R then type regedit and press Enter.
    Go to this path (expand the folders using the little ">")

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR

    Once there delete all the keys except (Default), restart your PC and try again

    I've only tried this with Genshin Impact + Discord, and no audio gets captured if I do pick the All option.

    I did recently switch to Windows 10 as well, back from Windows 11.

    However when I was on Windows 11, everything worked just fine without me having to check my settings etc.
