X box 1 s attach an external hard drive

Discus and support X box 1 s attach an external hard drive in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I'm attempting to add a 1 tb external hard drive to my s box 1 s. This is a Dell drive.     I'm attempting to add a 1 tb external hard drive to my s box 1 s. This is a Dell drive. Is there anything special I need to know to add it on???

    No as long as you are using a USB 3 enclosure

    Keep in mind it has to be formated ntfs to be used

    Also 1tb won't last long nowadays

    My xbox series x boots to saying its offline, can this be fixed?

    The issue ended up being the external hard drive I had connected, it had system config data from a Series S I used to have. If I booted the series x without the hard drive attached no issues. I re-formatted the external hard drive and the issue went away.

    Did Any one Else have issuse when transferring data from xbox one to xbox one x?

    Don't really keep anything on the internal drive; bounce my Seagate external 2Gb from a day 1 X Box, to a S, to a X with no problems. The 6Tb Western Digital that I moved from the S to the X work fine also.

    you will have to get another drive and redownload them all from your download history. microsoft cannot retreive that data.
