Wrong email

seems your brother will need to start a brand new account. Make sure this time to set it up with a valid email and password you'll remember. More importantly make sure to set up your security proofs!

so do you know the password for it as you would still be able to login with the wrong email

Just so that I am understanding correctly.

1. Your son setup a MS account with an email that was 1 digit off of a real email. Is this email a MS server email (outlook, Hotmail) or is it a like gmail, yahoo email?

Normally when a Non MS server email is setup it requires verification that you have access to that email. by sending an email with a link to that email address to verify that you have access to the email address. IF this never happened this is more than
likely what is happening.

2. When your try and sign into the account at account.microsoft.com it is wanting you to verify the email address?

Do this and see if this helps.

Go to account.live.com/addassocid

Sign into the account by typing in the wrong email address and the password that your son set up with the account.

This should bring up a page that wants to send the verification to the email to verify it again.

There should be a link that says that you do not have access to that email and should allow you to change the email that is linked to that account. You should then be able to add a new email to the account so that you can add a different email as long as
it is NOT currently used on any other MS account.

Hello Benny! I am sorry you are having trouble with your email. That is part of your security info. What you can do to change your email is to follow these directions:



1) Sign into your XBOX with the profile you wish to update.

2) Go to Settings and then select Account.

3) Scroll to the right to Your Information and select Account Security

4) Select Microsoft Account



From there, follow the on-screen instructions and this will allow you to change your email associated with your gamertag, which will change the email that they send those security emails to. I hope this helps! I will follow up on this post to make sure this
