Would you support a XBox handheld?

No one can deny the popularity of the Nintendo Switch, the console has sold like wildfire and devs who bring their games to the hybrid platform have seen mega sales. The biggest problem with it though is its weak hardware, its basically a slightly beefed
up Wii U that struggles to keep up with even watered down versions of some of the more popular ports. If Microsoft were to create a a hybrid of their own that was capable of 1080p at 60fps portable, and then 4k docked, would you get behind it?

    :)

  2. Xbox support you are a joke

A 24-hour ban is actually one of the lightest suspensions Xbox Enforcement will issue to players, typically for minor, first-time violations to the
Code of Conduct. Case reviews are usually not eligible for these kinds of suspensions because it's only a day long.

People will submit a report on others if they deem them to be disruptive or offensive, and Xbox Enforcement will review that report and take any necessary action if violations to the Code of Conduct are found. For future reference, in case your son encounters
any more problem players, the best thing to do is to: stop talking to them, mute, block, and report.

Keep in mind that Playstation's PSN has a similar player conduct policy ("Community Code of Conduct"), so don't expect any additional leeway.

Xbox support you are a joke

I have received an email from you to highlight a 24 hour enforcement against my son’s account listing a number of possible reasons for the enforcement but nothing that tells me the
reason this was applied. I followed the instructions in your email to submit a case review only to find myself going in circles and getting nowhere so I contacted Xbox support. They explain they can’t tell me the reason but a review would have taken place
for this to happen, I am told they cannot deal with this on the support call and I would be emailed instructions to follow. Guess what the same instructions as in the original email that when followed I cannot submit a case review. So another phone call to
be told because it was only a 24 hour suspension so I do not get the option for the case to be reviewed so now I have no way to follow this up via phone or via the online process which the support user confirms. My son was naturally quite upset that he was
accused of doing something wrong as he believes another user has done this to him for no other reason than being nasty although Microsoft tells me this would not be the case as they would investigate this but cannot tell me any details of the investigation
as they don’t have that information.

I have wasted over 1 hour and a half of my time and have no faith in the supposed features put in place to protect my child as they appear to be able to abuse these features for no
other reason than being nasty with no way to follow this up and you are left with your child being penalised for no reason. I did explain if evidence could be provided and my child was in the wrong i would happily take that on board but it appears you have
to accept your child’s guilt even when they are quite distraught and upset about the accusation.

A complete waste of time and the user that did this to me child as he told him he was doing it gets away without penalty.

Xbox I will be a PlayStation for Christmas and you have lost the custom of an Xbox customer for over 10 years due to your poor support and inability to deal with a customer enquiry.

  4. Would you support a XBox handheld?

I would have to see how it performs; having that much power in a portable device might present some problems ( like battery power for instance).

Without a doubt, another big one I was thinking was the GPU. The X is a powerhouse, I'm not sure how a 4k GPU would do in such a confined space with cooling but if anyone would be able to develop it MS could.

I agree with MsBallistiKitty. I'd love to see it and take my Xbox games on the go, but I'd have reservations about the device's power and battery usage.

  7. I'd have more reservations about the price. A handheld/home system hybrid that could do all you suggest would be hugely expensive, more than even the Xbox One X launched at.

Microsoft could certainly do it but would the retail price needed make it a viable concern?

I don’t think the reason the Switch sold so well was because it was portable, but it was just something new from Nintendo. It would have sold great regardless.

Handhelds will be a thing of the past soon. They’ll be relics lol. Your phones will be better than them before you know it.

I wouldn’t support and handheld from MS and I think it would be a waste as the market that is there is locked down by Nintendo

  9. There are a number of problems here.

Firstly, Nintendo have the handheld market locked down. No one is going to be able to challenge them at the moment in this field, it would be futile.

Secondly, the hardware concept you're asking for is impossible, at least it's impossible currently. There is no mobile hardware out there that could produce 1080 60 with reasonable graphics and a great battery life - it just doesn't exist. Will it exist
in the future? Sure, but not till another 3-5 years at least.

The Switch achieves it's gaming abilities using about 8 Watts of power on a 4,310mAh lithium-ion cell. A typical Switch can run most games for about 3 hours before running out of juice. Even when docked, the system only uses about 12 Watts.

Running games on a hybrid machine at much higher resolutions is one thing, running them at 4K docked is something else. The Switch can achieve higher resolutions on most games when docked, but it still uses the same hardware to
it. The dock for the switch contains no extra hardware, it simply allows the device to crack up the graphics and CPU resources using mains power, that's all.

A system the OP is describing would need some type of 'Power dock' with it's own CPU and graphics hardware - it's own SOC (system on a chip). Not only would this hardware have to contain some considerable hardware, to insure 100%
compatibility, it would have to be the same type of hardware as the handheld, it would be too expensive. A power dock that could provide better performance at 1080P is feasible, but at 4K? I doubt it.
