    Would this break community guidelines?


    Hey everyone.

    For the sake of avoiding a useless political debate on the Xbox forums, I will be using the nomenclature [Presidential Candidate]. However when I use this in this post, know I would be using the name of an
    actual 2020 presidential candidate in my bio.

    I want to change my Xbox bio to the simple phrase, "Please vote for [presidential candidate]." Given today's political climate I'm worried that this could in some way be a violation of Xbox policy. In brief
    research, I've found it is against policy to "use your activity feed to promote controversial politics." Again, given the nature of modern politics, the aforementioned sentence is technically controversial. However, that policy guideline I mentioned is packed
    very closely with phrases to avoid, such as "get out of my country", etc.

    Do you think the phrase "Please vote for [presidential candidate]." is within guidelines for a bio? I'm not antagonizing anyone, not trolling, not forcing my views on anyone, it's just a simple statement/request
    that can be just as easily ignored. I'd appreciate some insight/clarification on this. Thanks!

    even if politics was allowed it can still then be treated as advertising which is against the rules. leave politics out of gaming please.

    As a rule of thumb,if you have to ask or have any doubts then don't do it.

    Would you get into trouble? Possibly as it could be classed as a controversial topic.

    Another thing to remember is that a lot of people play xbox & come on xbox live to get away from real life stuff & don't particularly want to see that sort of stuff on xbox live.

    Community guidelines is just the general name for all the rules on xbox live

    I think if that person is suspected the gamertag should be reported ASAP. I think reporting them would be under the category of breaking community guidelines. Also the Xbox community should know that gamertag so others can report them as well. Xbox needs
    to be a safe place for everyone.

    This is incorrect, I reported a player last week for profanity and xbox told me that my report that I filed against a player didn't break community guidelines
