    would changing the Xbox One S internal drive cause problems ?


    wondering if swapping out the current drive (for an SSD) would be an issue ?

    i know the procedure and have the tools. but don't know if this would cause a problem like:

    the console being banned (I have xbox live gold)

    i am already outside of my 1 yr warranty period, looking to make the console more responsive/faster and possibly go 2TB, to give more room for games.

    Hello,

    You shouldn't swap the internal hard drive.

    You can buy an external SSD from Amazon / your local store, just make sure it has USB3.0 connection.

    it would be easier to get an external drive.

    that wouldn't break any terms of use or the code of conduct and there would be no risk of damaging the Xbox
    am i able to install all my games in full on an external drive ?

    i am trying to go SSD to improve console responsiveness

    Contact Microsoft and pay for an out of warranty repair or buy a new console.
    no thank you !

    its a drive, just like the fan it could fail. i should be allowed to replace it.

    let microsoft deal with cheaters using crafty software, and dont penalize users for wanting simple repairability or hardware tweaks.
