    This should work for almost every single case where you cannot download your Xbox 360 Profile. First of all I have more or less figured out that this is due to an IPv6 issue with the 360 File Transfer that can create a seemingly impossible loop to solve. The solution was always in front of our noses.

    It's a loop that your console has been put into which no amount of resets or patience can resolve until it's broken. If it's internally or externally I cannot say but it most likely originates from the first window that says "Downloading your 360 Info..." when you start a 360 game for the first time or after a reset.

    For some people though, it'll pop up for 3-5 seconds and then immediately start the game. If they go to dashboard and try to download the profile it instantly fails saying "Can't connect to Xbox Live."

    This rare form of this issue is the most unfortunate one to get, because Microsoft Support doesn't know what to do. They'll run you through every single troubleshooting step only to tell you to send it in for repairs.

    Other forms are usually solved by their troubleshooting steps, but this one in particular hasn't gotten any attention from Microsoft whatsoever. Luckily a lot of us realize you cannot rely on Microsoft for complex matters in niche areas. They just won't bother.

    I'll get straight to the point, I know how frustrating this **** was for me.

    First you want to turn off recurring billing on your Live subscription at accounts.microsoft.com (turn it back on after fixing the issue of you want). Turn on your mobile hotspot. Reset your 360 Cache (Settings>System>Storage) and Clear MAC Address (Settings>General>Network>Advanced Settings).

    After the restart, MAKE SURE to skip logging into your profiles at the Xbox One Dash.

    Start the 360 game.

    Now it will start without prompting for the 360 info. Open the 360 Dash by pressing the 3 Lines button and 2 Windows buttons together. Select download Profile. Voila, you have broken the loop. Now you sign in with your credentials, and the download will fail, error message telling you to log into your profile at Xbox One before attempting the profile download. Do that, and try once more to download the profile.

    That should be it.

    I'd advise against ever deleting your profile but just in case, after this make sure you have a working backup of your console so you never fall victim of niche bug loops that Microsoft will never even bother assigning anyone to look at.

    Ok, so my friend had to download an xbox live update, but the update kept restarting itself. after it finally finished, he wasn't able to get his profile to connect to xbox live.

    We've tried the following to try and fix it: Delete and re download the profile (the profile is corrupted), Clearing the system cache, Updating security proofs, and Reset the xbox 360 to factory defaults. I should probably note that we downloaded his profile
    onto my xbox 360, and it worked fine, it wasn't corrupted and it could connect to xbox live. So is this a problem with the profile or Xbox 360?

    All of my Xbox360 games on xbox one wont connect to Xbox live.

    I am just now having this issue for the first time. A couple weeks ago I was able to play Halo Reach on my Xbox One but today, when I load it up, it won't connect to Xbox live. My Xbox One is on a wired connection - open NAT and all services good - however
    the "360" won't connect. I tried correctly hard restarting the console twice, clearing the 360 saved data, and playing other games but all have the same issue. The "360" cannot connect to Live. I also tried deleting my 360 profile like suggested in a number
    of forums but when I go to sign in and download the profile, it can't connect anyway in order to download the profile.

    me too the connection wasnt working then i tried to download my profile and it says "sorry,Xbox LIVE profiles can't be downloaded right now.Try again later." and then it deletes my profile.....

    I believe that deleting and redownloading your profile will help with this, but you'll want to copy your profile to a USB stick, just in case you can't connect to download it. If that doesn't work, you'll want to post in the Connecting to Xbox Live on Xbox
