Wordament - crashes on iPhone when loading Cloud Save

I'm using Wordament on both an iPhone (iOS 16.5) and iPad (iPadOS 16.4.1).

The last saved game is from my iPad. When I try to start the game on my iPhone, I get the "Choose Save Data" dialog, which gives me the option of "Keep Local Save" or "Keep Cloud Save"

Obviously, the Cloud Save point is the most current and is what I'd like to use, but when I select it in the dialog, there is a brief (1-2 second) pause and then the game crashes. I can go back into it by swiping up from the bottom of the screen but it does the same thing and the second time, the game completely crashes - no longer present in the multi-tasking view.

I am signed in to the same accounts on both iPhone and PC. Games will not save on iPhone nor PC, even though when possible I attempt to load my save data from the cloud. Cloud storage doesn’t have any saved data regardless of the device I use. I’ve been trying all day long to get it to save my games but it just won’t work

Can you try to start the game with a different profile?

If the game gets to the "Press A" screen, and then crashes, it might be an issue with a savegame.

If the game loads fine on a different profile, your savegame might be corrupted. Go to the storage settings, and clear the local savegame cache.

Try loading the game again, and let the game synchronize your saves from the cloud.

If the game still crashes, the cloud save is corrupted, and I'm afraid you need to start over or see if another save loads.

Being able to have multiple save files when one gets corrupted WOULD save the problem. The problem lies within the game crashing and pulling the save from the cloud. If I had 2-3 save files...when the game crashes and reloads...I can load one of my save
files (not the default as that one is now corrupted) and bam....I've lost nothing but the little bit of time I'd been playing that day.

This is true, but the problem comes about when you save offline to your hard drive, it won't be synchronized to your cloud save. Meaning, if load the game later on, when back online, the cloud save, not the hard drive save will
be loaded. Overwriting your hard drive save.

You can stop the cloud save from loading, but you need to be paying attention when it happens.
