Won't change channels on directv box

I have Directv and I still can't get this to work. Recognizes my voice but won't change the channels. The model number of my box is C41-700. The remote settings is set for IR. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated

im having the same issue as you right now. my directv box is HR21/100 and channel up wont change the channel when prompted, tried to manually put in the receiver but still nothing is working

In retrospect, during the initial setup, the directv box did not respond to the channel up command. I suppose that is the source of the problem. I continued responding no when the device asked if the box was responding. After about 6 attempts it asked
for the model of the directv box which is HR34700. Still open for suggestions.....

I completely understand your frustration although our problem is slightly different. Everything seems to be working but xbox one will not change the channel on my directv box. Once I say a particular station or title it blinks and just stays on the same
channel. During the initial set up, my tv did not respond to the channel up command; from that point forward, it wouldn't switch.

If you tried manual entry of the make/model, and tried auto-detection. That device may be set to RF control instead of IR. I suggest calling DirecTV and ask them to change the Cable box to IR channel 1. Please post your results here! Thanks FadedGenie55.
