Wonky controller mapping with Forza Horizon 4 PC and Xbox Elite controller gen1

Hi all,

I have a weird issue with FH4 PC while using a MS Xbox gen1 Elite controller with a Wired connection (USB Cable to PC).

Although the button mappings are correct, whenever I try to steer left or right with LS (left joystick) the camera pans left and right instead of steering.

Bindings are - by default - LS to steer and RS to pan camera. But somehow both joysticks pan the camera although the bindings say otherwise.

A short fix is to remap the LS to steer left and right, it works as intended until you press escape then it reverts to panning the cammera, even though the bindings don't change.

I tried using a different cable/usb port but the behavior is the same.

Any tips on what to try next?

I am sorry to hear about the issue. Let's see what we can do about this matter here.

To further isolate the issue, would you be able to try those mappings on a different game if it behaves the same thing?

If it does the same thing, most likely it's a controller firmware bug where you might need to report it via Feedback Hub on Windows. Please check your guide here https://support.xbox.com/help/account-profile/m....

Be sure to update your controller firmware as well. Other thing to try is to restore your mapping and re-map it again.

the elite controls, allow for greater settings on buttons even joystick, personal title I have played a lot of forza horizon 4 and the division and gears 5, and you had no problem with the control

The controller is fine with other games on my pc. Only when playing forza horizon 4 this issue happens

The paddles on the Elite controller can only be mapped through the Xbox Accessories app on the Xbox One or Windows 10, otherwise they default to ABXY. They are mapped through the controller itself, you press a paddle on the controller, the controller then
sends the mapped command to the PC/Console. Thus they can only be mapped to duplicate other buttons on the controller and cannot be mapped to commands that are "outside" of the regular Xbox Controller inputs.

Basically they aren't an extra 4 buttons, rather an alternative 4 buttons.

Also, if they are not responding at all, try double tapping the sync button on the top of the controller. When turning the paddles off, you get 4 short bursts of vibration, when turning the paddles on, you get one longer burst of vibration.
