    Good evening!

    I have an issue with my wireless Xbox One controller for PC and i didn't find any specific thread or support so I try it here.

    If i pull the left stick back it stays for a moment and slowly slides back to the middle, it also often don't react if i push it forward.

    I bought it at Media Markt in Klagenfurt on the 16th of December, 2017 and suffer with this problem since around the beginning of May 2018 but i couldn't catch up the issue due to time issues and lazyness x)... Also if i want to register it at devices i
    couldn't find a controller only area since i have no xbox to register. I would be thankfull for some help!

    Xbox 360 wireless controller for windows 7

    Hi,

    I need to get an adapter and new wireless xbox 360 controller to hook up with windows 7. Will an old xbox 360 wireless controller be compatible with the latest version of the adapter? Is this all I need to hook up my controllers with my pc?

    The wired controllers work just fine. If you are purchasing a wireless controller, make sure it comes with the wireless adapter for your pc.

    I have the answer it states at the xbox website “The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is also compatible with PCs running Windows 7 or later versions. To connect the controller to a PC, use the included
    USB cable or use the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows (Windows 10 only).” hope this helps

    Summary: I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

    Longer description: I installed fresh windows 10, downloaded and installed all win updates, then I tried all these steps and at the end controller started working.

    1) plugged wireless adapter into USB windows 10 recognized it but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

    2) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port but Xbox one controller won't connect (keep on blinking)

    3) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port started task manager removed Xbox one adapter, windows found it again but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

    4) plugged wireless adapter into another USB port (front) started task manager removed Xbox one adapter and Xbox drivers, windows found it again installed it but still noting (gamepad keep on blinking)

    5) FINALLY, I fixed it by plugging USB cable into a controller and pc, win 10 recognized it, system restart was required and after that controller was working wirelessly also.

    the answer is it is a wireless controller they dont work with the usb charging cable ive tried it on windows 7 and 10 you need a proper wired controller apparently.
    That's true for 360 controllers, but not Xbox One. The Xbox One controllers work wired and via wireless on PC. My wiress controllers all work fine via the micro USB cable on my PC.

    Windows 7 doesn't come with drivers built in to the OS though, they may need need to be downloaded manually if Windows update isn't picking up the controller.
