Wireless headset updated, now everyone hears static/crackling over my talking.

Yep, same problem here. I've been playing Destiny 2 and I never hear any static while playing but as soon as I go to the dashboard I hear awful static, crackling, popping ect. Both through my headset and my TV speakers.

Sorry to see you're having headset trouble. To start things off, which other headsets have you tested and have any of them not given you the crackle you're hearing? Is it possible to test your headset on a friend's console to see if you also run into this
sound? I managed to give this a try myself and I'm unable to hear any static or crackling.

I've had the same problem.

My headset broke about a month ago. I can still hear people, but unless my mic is muted, it makes a constant crackling sound that pisses everyone off.

Now, it usually doesn't even make the crackling sound and doesn't have any capability for people to hear me.

How can I get another one?

the controller is fine but the sound quality of the x1 is seriously slacking...i still get a pop/crackle and if the april update doesnt fix this im rma'ing my console...he's right on the static through the crappy headset adapter aswell...it does sound like
there is a short in it..it cuts out left and right in titanfall and this was through three different headsets. The X1 has serious audio issues all because they want to try to reinvent their audio and make a proprietary system everyone has to reprogram for...there
was nothing wrong with the setup from last time...if anything digital optical switches/controllers/amplifiers and get wireless through that.

I can unplug and plug my 3.5mm plug into the female socket on the audio adapter and hear a static noise like a short...and that was through 3 of them like i've said before. Its the chat audio adapters...they are faulty (probably because of cheaply made)
yet they are overpriced.

I have another headset that's the Razor Kraken wired and a PDP wireless headset, both from Walmart. They were having that static crackle issue in party chat and then I thought I would get a higher end headset with Astro. I'm now on my third Astro headset and have plugged it directly into the aux port and also through the mix amp that plugs to the bottom of the controller. Both with the same results. I'm starting to think it's possibly the Series X.
