Wireless Gaming Adapters: Xbox 360 wireless adapter power surge
So I always leave my wireless adapter plugged into my Pc but now every time I try to plug it in it gives me your device is exceeding required power. Does anyone have a fix for that or found a problem similar to this?

How to charge your Xbox Wireless Headset

You should charge your wireless headset overnight before you start using it for the first time. You can charge your wireless headset using a USB charging cable or an AC power adapter.

To charge with a USB charging cable, connect one end of the headset charging cable to your wireless headset and plug the other end into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console. You have to turn on your console to charge the headset.

To charge with an AC power adapter, plug it into an electrical outlet and connect the other end to the wireless headset.

Note: When you connect the AC power adapter with your headset, the connection (if any) between the headset and console will be interrupted.

At the time of charging, the lights on your wireless headset flash one at a time, and then turn off. But when the headset is fully charged, all four lights blink together.

The headset beeps when the battery is low.

    • If your headset beeps two times, it means that 30 minutes of battery life remains.
    • If it beeps three times, 5 minutes of battery life remains.

  3. Xbox 360 s won't recognize internal wifi adapter?

    Adapter Hardware Checks

To actively fix adapter-recognition problems, check the adapter power light. If the Xbox 360 does not recognize that a wireless adapter even exists, make sure that the power light on the wireless adapter is lit up. If not, taking a close look at the connections
should do the trick. Disconnect and then reconnect the adapter cable, and make sure the USB connection is solid before continuing.

Restoring the Xbox 360 wireless network adapter factory defaults is another direct solution for the adapter hardware. Sometimes, new network settings will not be saved by the wireless adapter. If this happens, a restoration to factory default of the network
adapter hardware is necessary. First navigate to the "System" section in the Xbox 360 Dashboard, then click on the option "Restore Default Settings." After you do so, the light on the wireless adapter will fluctuate between red and green, and then stay on
red once the process is complete. Then fill in the new network settings and password and save them to finish the process.

    network doesnt work!!!!

blackassesin73, do you have the 360s (chrome power button) or the 360 (black, white, green power button on the console)? The 360s has wifi built-in.

For the 360, there are two models of wireless adapter. The
    wireless 'G' adapter
has one antenna and will do 802.11a (fast corporate networks), 802.11b (slow) and 802.11g (faster and most popular). The

    wireless 'N' adapter
has two antennas and will do 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n (fastest).

    wired network connection issue

Hello ElectronFix, have you had a power surge at all while the ethernet cord was connected to your XBOX 360? If so it's quite possible that the Ethernet port on the XBOX 360 is fried and needs to be repaired. Alternatively if you have an XBOX 360 Wireless
Adapter you can try that out or if you have the XBOX 360 S it has wireless built into it. Let us know if that's the case. Thanks

    XBox wireless problems

I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your Xbox 360 wireless adapter. A flashing green light indicates that the adapter is attempting to connect to a wireless network. When you try to connect to your wireless network, does the console prompt you to connect
an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter, or does it recognize the adapter but display no wireless networks in the list?

New Xbox Slim will not connect wirelessly when it is wireless enabled.
