    Will VR ever be released on the Xbox One?

    are you sure? I know there is a 3rd party company that released a wireless adapter... but it's still pretty bulky and cumbersome. Still, a step in the right direction. I think we will see proper wireless headsets sooner than later.

    Well the adapter can't work without the router because those both are used combined to allow wireless connection. As far as a cause I know and I used it and it works... sometimes. So if you have anything metallic in between your 360 and router try your best
    to keep it out of the way. Metallic items can disrupt the connection and make it worse then what it's potential should be, but you can go wired connection which would be better because when I had wired connection my connection is better but yea. So try this
    and see if it works.
