Wireless Gaming Adapters: Trying to connect a wireless Microsoft microphone to PC

Wireless Gaming Adapters: Trying to connect a wireless Microsoft microphone to PC
    Hello,

I'm trying to connect a wireless Microsoft microphone to one of my PCs (windows 7 or 10, I have both). My remote controllers are working fine. When the microphone links up with my computer I got no error. But when I try to see what it is recording, the audio
    level is staying at

the top, just as if there was some loud background noise. It does not catch anything in reality, it is just a bug. It simply does not work.

Taking a closer look, I can see that the peripheral XBOX_360_DEVICE_00:07 is using the "generic usb drivers"

When I try to force the Xbox audio device drivers, the drivers won't install, and throws that it is impossible to set the driver. (windows 7 or 10). It is saying that while installing the driver, it went into an error when trying to install it. It is missing
an entry to make it work. It might have been written for a previous version of windows (translated from french, as the computer is set to use french)

The ID of the microphone is : USB\VID_045E&PID_0291&IA_07\6&DCD19AE&0&07

I acquired 2 microphones, and both do the exact same issue. The issue and the error is EXACTLY the same whether I use a windows 7 or a windows 10 computer.

I really was hoping those to work on windows, as it is what it is said on Xbox pages.

So : The system sees the microphone It pushes a generic audio driver, which does not work It won't allow me to install the Xbox driver The issue is the same on windows 10 & 7 I have 2 microphone, the chances that both are broken is close to nothing. My receiver
works well as I can use it for remote controllers

    Any support will be welcome

    :)

How to use the Xbox 360 Wireless Microphone

It is better to hold the microphone 0.5-3 inches (1-8 cm) from your mouth at the time of singing or speaking. Don’t blow into the microphone or tap directly on the microphone windscreen.

It is possible to use up to two wired or wireless controllers together with the microphones. You cannot use a microphone if a wired headset is connected to your console. But the Xbox 360 Wireless Microphone doesn’t interfere with any other wired or wireless Xbox 360 accessories.

    The Microphone indicator lights

You can easily understand your microphone status from the built in lights shining.

    • If the lights flash green one time every second, it indicates that the power is on.
    • If the lights flash green four times every second, it indicates that the microphone is connecting.
    • If the lights flash blue and then stops, it means that the connection is completed.
    • If the lights flash green one time every second, it means that your microphone is out of the wireless range of your console.
It is also very important to understand the battery status signals.

    • If the battery of your microphone is low, the lights will flash amber one time every three seconds.
    • If the battery status is critical, the lights will flash amber one time every second.

How to connect a wireless Microphone to your Xbox 360 console

You can use the Xbox 360 Wireless Microphone with the Xbox video game and entertainment system. Before connecting the Microphone to a console, you have to insert the batteries. The microphone supports only AA (LR6) alkaline or fully charged Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries.

Note: The microphone doesn’t include a charging system. So, you must charge the batteries in an appropriate charging device.

Now you can create a wireless connection between the microphone and your console. Wireless Gaming Adapters: Trying to connect a wireless Microsoft microphone to PC :)

Connect the microphone to the console

It is possible to connect up to four Xbox Wireless Microphones at one time, depending on your configuration and game support. Each microphone will be assigned to one of the four lights surrounding the power button of the console. But the quadrant will only light up if a controller is connected to the console.

Note: If four microphones are connected to the console, two of them can be used to sing. The other two microphones can be used as percussion instruments.

To connect a microphone to the console, follow the steps bellow:

    • First, you need to turn on your console.
    • Now press and hold the power button on the microphone until the lights start flashing. It’ll take about three seconds.
    • You need to press and hold the power button on the microphone again until the light start flashing quickly. It’ll also take about three seconds.
    • When the microphone’s lights stop flashing and the lights surrounding the power button on the console spin and flash one time, the microphone is connected.
    • If you want to connect more microphones follow the steps above.

If you want to turn off your microphone, you’ll have to press and then release the power button. If the microphone is idle for 15 minutes, it’ll go to sleeping mode till you start to use it again.

    Notes:

    • You cannot connect a microphone to multiple consoles at a time. But you can connect the microphone to a new console any time disconnecting it from the previous one.
    • You can use a microphone within 33 feet (10 meters) of the console. However, other radio frequency-emitting devices or objects between the microphone and the console may reduce this range.
    • If the microphone is out of wireless range, the lights will flash green on time every second.

Anyone have it where the mic connects but can’t talk out of it how do you fix that

This wireless microphone , it’s fully compatible with Xbox / designed for Xbox?
Or do you connect it using a USB adapter / wireless receiver?

Xbox 360 Mic adapter only works on Wired not Wireless?

The microphone is connected using a 3.5mm cable to the controller with an adapter (3.5mm to 2.5mm).

It only works on the wired controller but not the wireless controller?

    Bluetooth? Xbox windows wireless adapter

You try use USB to first connect your controller and pc.

If your Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is working,

the controller will auto wireless connect on next time

Xbox Accessories app stuck on 0% when trying to sync data on Windows 10

Gabriel can you try disconnecting the wireless adapter and open the app?
If that works, connect the wireless adapter with the app opened.

By the way, is this wireless adapter the Xbox Wireless adapter? Or is a Bluetooth adapter?

Xbox Wireless adapter making crackling noise in headset.

    Yeah, that's really strange
Did you test the headphone on the other PC connecting them via Bluetooth?

Could you connect the wireless adapter to that other PC?

If finally the issue persists, as you said previously. Probably is an issue with the wireless adapter.

But if you want we can try another things on the PC where you're using the adapter
