    Wireless Gaming Adapters: DHCP servers can’t connect
    XBOX 1 a Xbox gamertag called “Hire” said and I quote “hope dont you don’t feel like playing tonight” after some MILD trash talk.

    Now I’ve been DC’d from servers over the past month.

    Given the fact anyone can do this is unacceptable and needs to be handled. Why did i and million others pay 60-100 dollars only to be ripped off.

    This actually didn’t work either. While trying these tips, I kept getting “Can’t get an IP address” (even though it had) and “Can’t connect to a DHCP server”

    Your Xbox should receive an DHCP offer from the DHCP server on your wireless router, but I suspect that the only connection between your switch and your wireless router goes into the WAN port of your router, correct? If so, there will be no subsequent traffic
    from the DHCP server on your router. Only the initial messages from your console, being a discovery broadcast message, but no response from the DHCP server, being on the wrong interface.

    And yes I am positive it is set to automatic

    Do you have the option to access your power adapter? Is the DHCP server on this device turned on?

    taidara, yes. I use DHCP reservation for the Xbox One, and the problem persists. Generally, but not always on the first try or without restart, the Xbox One can get a DHCP IP when wired or wireless 2.4Ghz. It worked for a long time on wireless 5.8Ghz (my
    preference), but now it consistently reports "Can't connect to DHCP server" and gives the same error even when manually assigning an IP in Advanced Settings (even though DHCP should not matter when manually assigning). There is definitely something weird
    going on in the Xbox One network settings.
