I just wondered if anyone had heard anything about Microsoft Xbox team gearing up to market with a high quality, extremely low latency Bluetooth headset, earphones or headphones - Im talking high quality wireless Bluetooth earphones that
have perfect audio visual sync for playing games with ?

Personally I think it is a long time coming.... where is it, this is something I would definitely invest in!

...or perhaps a third-party company has already this hardware for sale already.

I realise there are ways to do this already, like by buying a SP/DIF to Bluetooth converter and plugging it in the back of the Xbox One, and then using your own choice of high quality Bluetooth headphones.

...I just thought Microsoft Xbox might want to take advantage of the Xbox One X Bluetooth capabilities.

*** I have never tried this so far, there is one SP/DIF to Bluetooth converter I found online, that boasts an extremely low latency, but Im not sure how it would perform with high performance high FPS games - would the visual and audio sync be good enough.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Xbox one Bluetooth headset with a bluetooth transmitter?

I was wondering if anyone knows if a bluetooth transmitter like this one :

would work to transmit audio from the headset jack on the controller to pair of bluetooth headphones with a mic. I really hate that theres no way to get a truly wireless headset. If anyone has any info on this it would be much appreciated before I waste
my money. Thanks!!!

Also, I know that the audio cord on there adapter only has two lines on it instead of 3 like the pictures on the official xbox headset page. There are other transmitters that let you use any audio cable so that shouldn't be a problem.

Hi, Microsoft have no plans currenly to release a Bluetooth headset. Considering none of the Xbox One consoles support Bluetooth, then they really have no reason to.

I didn't realise this, but yes you are correct on further reading I realise now that Xbox, even Xbox One X uses a proprietary wireless technology - which in my opinion creates AMAZING audio via the gamepad and wired earphones.

Shame though, since it would be awesome to have some wireless earphones to use on games.

I personally always the third party option for this and have a pair of Astro A50.

The alternative would be to buy a cheap stereo headset and use Dolby Atmos

I get they might not want e-waste coming along with their product but then they need to either flat out state in the marketing that to get full compatibility with PC you need an adapter or not market it as a wireless gaming headset for windows 10. I have tried the mono step and it did nothing. It has to do with the two different playback devices that the bluetooth puts out. If I don't have it set to headset earphone while using the mic I will not hear a single thing from my headphones even if I pump all audio into the speaker playback device for the headphones and see the audio indicator in the sound control panel move I will not hear anything. But if I switch to the headset earphone playback deice I will hear everything again but in mono. Unlike the speaker where you can configure if it is mono or stereo you can't with the headset earphone. The earphones and speakers can't be on at the same time and it seems like if the mic is being used the earphones also are used.

I believe that Xbox controllers only transmit and receive audio through the Xbox wireless signal and not via Bluetooth. If using Bluetooth to connect the controller, you need to use a different method for audio. Wired controllers and controllers connected with the Microsoft wireless dongle can use the headphone jack for audio.

your bluetooth headset with mic is designed for audio and talking via bluetooth, the cable that you can plug into your headset and then to the controller only enables audio not mic. lots of bluetooth headsets and headphones are the same, the option to plug in a cable is for audio only.

Gabriela, Xbox consoles are not compatible with the type of headset you are trying to use, it is only compatible with headphones and microphones connected to the 3.5mm audio port of the controller or the Xbox wireless headset or other third party headphones but that work by radio frequency not by Bluetooth.

Unfortunately it's not possible to connect your headset via Bluetooth, unless your headset or headphones have built in Bluetooth. If the headset's are Bluetooth capable, then you would need to set them up via your PC's Bluetooth settings, but I'm not sure
if you can have multiple devices connected via Bluetooth at the same time.

You would need to directly connect the headset to your PC via the 3.5 mm audio port. Connecting into the controller will not work unless you are playing on an Xbox One console.

The Xbox wireless controller adapter for PC will not work in trying to connect a headset via Bluetooth.
