Hi,

I have the XBOne controller with the wireless adapter for PC. and the latest Windows 10 pro fall creators update.

With any game that I play using the controller, after ~ 15 minutes I experience low framerates, stuttering and choppy sound. After days of troubleshooting, I isolated the cause.

If I unplug the xbox wireless adapter and plug it in again, the problem goes away for another 15 minutes!

Everything is up to date (even the controller firmware was updated through the xbox accessories app), and after googling I saw several cases with the same problem.

Is there any plan to fix it?

Red Dead Redemption jerky when playing.

Since the August 1st 2016 update. Red Dead Redemption has had terrible frame rate drops and extremely choppy game play.

Also the audio has a ton of static when navigating. Crackling etc.

Xbox Wireless Adapter and Framerate drops in games

Hi,

I think this maybe similar to the BSOD issues people seem to have with the wireless adapter, there is certainly issues with the driver and some sort of leak. I start getting stuttering and framerate drops in rocket league after about 20mins of play time.
removing the wireless adapter and reinserting it immediately fixes the issue IN GAME (rocket league)

It seems to point to a leak or buffer problem in the adapter driver though everything is updated to the latest drivers.

Any ideas on this? or are we just waiting for a new driver to be released??

I contacted the technical support.

Same issue here. Game starts to stutter as BT drops out. Once its disconnected the frames are fine but controller xbox logo is pulsing.

I have the wireless adapter for pc from my elite 1, I paired to that and haven't had any issues yet with that setup.

Firmware was updated and is current. On windows 10 pro 1909 and latest nvidia driver that was released for Jedi: Fallen Order.

BT would be nice so I dont have to use the wireless adapter. But till it's fixed I guess I have to.

I reinstalled the driver but that didn’t help so I tested the headphones on another computer and they didn’t crackle on that computer. I never had this issue on my main pc with any headphones whether they are wired or wireless they didn’t crackle. The issue just started to happen only on that pc only when I have headphones connected through the wireless adapter.

Yes, the wireless adapter works and is probably the preferred way to use the controller. Xbox One controllers connected to windows 10 PC's via Bluetooth cause a noticeable performance drop in games. Connect with a wire or the wireless adapter and the performance
hit is not present. Funny thing is no other Bluetooth controller causes a performance drop in games. It is something specific to the Xbox One controller.
