Wired Xbox controllers dont work after a period of time

I do understand the urgency of you wanting to find other ways for this issue of yours in regards with your Xbox wired controllers not working. We are very glad to help you out to find some of the best possible options and troubleshooting's that we can provide for you.



To get started, I'd like to ask a few questions to better understand the problem that you're facing:

• How long have you been using the controllers? Is this still under warranty?
  
• Have you tried using the controllers on a different device?
  
• Have you tried using a different controller on the same device?
  
• May we know the specific Xbox wired controller that you have?
  
• May we know what is the Xbox Console that you are using?
  
• May we know where did you purchase your Xbox Wired Controller? Is it on the Microsoft Store? Physical Store or any local resellers?
  

We are as well just asking all of these questions for us to as well isolate on this further as we move along so that we can understand more about this concern of yours since there might be 2 possibilities with this if this issue lies on your Controllers or your Xbox Console that is not cooperating with your newly bought controllers.



Assuming that the issue is with the controllers, here are some steps that you we can try to seek some possible options that we can do:



1. Check the cable: Make sure that the cable is not damaged or frayed. If it is, try using a different cable.

2. Update the controller drivers: Go to the Device Manager on your computer, locate the Xbox controller, right-click on it, and select "Update driver."

3. Check for updates: Make sure that your Xbox controller is up to date with the latest firmware. You can do this by connecting the controller to your Xbox console and checking for updates in the settings menu.

4. Reset the controller: Press and hold the small button on the back of the controller for 5 seconds to reset it.

5. Try a different USB port: If you're using a USB hub, try connecting the controller directly to your computer's USB port.

i also forgot to mention that the controllers will turn off or disconnect after extended periods of use. Both wired and wireless.

i have been having the same problem wired or wireless controller both will drop connection just randomly started doing this a few weeks ago some days it works fine some days its a struggle. wireless just doesn't work period, wired controller sometimes will
quit for a few second then start working but it does it repeatedly. very annoying not sure why after 3 years it just starts this

i now have a wired controller from the brand PDP for the xbox, and there my headset works perfect

and on the 2 original wireles controllers not
