Wired Xbox Controller Issues with Random Games

Depends on what I'm doing.....I have a ScufGAMING Wired Controller specific for FPS and I use Wireless for random games.

Update: Still no resolution. Spent 2 hours on the phone with MS support, no success. Disabled wireless networking on the Xbox to play offline, controller continues to disconnect. Picked up a brand new Gamestop Wired Controller, same issue persists. I'm almost
positive it's a hardware failure with the console at this point. Controller will maintain connection for MAYBE an hour at random.

Ok, strangely I was able to play on a game while the controller was connected via cable and it started working again normally, which is random.

And now, I've unplugged the cable after playing with a wired connection for 15-20 minutes and now it's working normally wirelessly, which is also random.

Whether it's a problem with the new update or just a synchronization issue, I have no idea, but it's working, for now at least

This really should be a discussion with "which do you prefer and why" and is not an issue, but I understand the form treats questions as issues (and visa versa).

But as you have put it here, the controllers operate the same. The wired controller has a little less lag (though less <10ms difference, so is not noticeable to the human perception as that is at about 30ms). Though we get cues at a much faster rate so if
a hardcore gamer the wired controller would be the choice.

Wired controllers do not suffer from interference. At close ranges, like those of a wired controller, this would not be an issue.

Bluetooth controllers work with your phone, standard Xbox wireless do not (be careful to make sure your wireless controller is Bluetooth compatible. See https://www.pcgamer.com/xbox-one-controller-on-pc/

Of course with wired controllers, you don't have to worry about battery life. The wired controller is slightly lighter, but there is some noticeable drag and entanglement of the cable in the wired controller.

Wired controllers are harder to misplace.

I can't stand the wired mess. My OCD kicks in whether I am playing or just looking at the room!

So, in the end, I chose wireless controllers. It is interesting that hardcore PC games also choose wired mouses.

I also am having same issue. Xbox One controller works before Xbox Live signin and then every 15-20 seconds it disconnects. I however do not get the random wireless drop as I use a wired connection.

I had tried the plug-play charger, directly wired, new batteries and even a friends controller. No luck even friends controller showing same issue. I had presumed something has happened to my Xbox then, but then I find this post of exactly what has happened
to me too.

Just thought I post this message as I had similar issue, and others may have it too thinking their Xbox One is broke. I think if Xbox aknowledge this error hopefully its just a simple update fix.
