Wired to modem and still have to restart modem to connect to the internet, can't find IP ...

I have my xbox one wired directly to my modem but still have to reset my modem for my xbox one to connect to the internet. I've upgraded my internet along with a better modem but still no luck. Is this just one of xbox's many problems that they seem to over
look so that they can make needless changes to other parts of the system? Does this also contribute to the system loosing connectivity to my controllers? It has been going on long enough that I have proudly bought a ps4 and can say I have had zero problems.
So I guess since people have had this problem since the release of the xbox one and still haven't fixed it,
THE SOLUTION IS BUY A PLAYSTATION 4

Yup tried unplugging it all and starting afresh but no luck.

The wired network seems to work but when I test the multiplayer connection it complains that it 'cannot get a teredo IP address'. Whatever that is...

Need help with xbox live

My xbox(s) have been messin up lately, The wireless one used to do this alot but now my hard wired one right to the router doesnt like connecting have the time even tho we have internet going.. i think there is issues with XBL period lately. Best bet man is unplug your router and modem, wait a min then plug just your modem.. let it turn on and go online, then plug in your router. reset ur box and see if it works

give that a try and see if that helps.

I would like to point out at this stage however, buying a PS4 would not be a solution as it doesn't fix the issue, this would be a "workaround".

I'm with Rogers. I pay for 100Mbps speed internet. My Xbox One S is wired to the modem. The modem is a Hitron 3.1, the latest model.

As far as troubleshooting:

Resetting the modem, new modem, wired connection, wifi connection, new ethernet cables, Xbox hard reset, Xbox factory reset, Alternate MAC clear, manual DNS, port forwarding, UPnP, DMZ, clearing blu-ray cache, full power cycle, manual IP, auto IP, static
IP.

Yes I've tried a direct connection. When I plug it into the modem I get a 169 IP and it can't even connect to the internet. It's a Ubee Modem DVW3201B.

smi1ey are you still using an static ip address or not? Does this "problem Xbox" have a problem when connected directly to your modem? Try it as a test

You will most likely need to restart the modem after connecting it to the Xbox and then restart the Xbox (with its ip address on auto)
