Unable to format new TOSHIBA 2TB HDD. Tried on windows Envy laptop and in the xbox console. Needed for additional storage. Current internal storage max'd.

Just letting you know I have a new 2TB HD (Seagate) that works like a beauty, so it was a problem with the first one I bought (TOSHIBA).

I've packaged it all up to send back to the supplier, it will be going in the post tomorrow, so far I've tried all angles and had no luck. I've just ordered a new one, Seagate.

This can be a bit odd, but if you try transferring files to this drive
Are you able to do it properly on an error appears?

And if possible, try formatting the drive with a different computer
Could be an issue with the drive itself and not your PC or the Xbox

Thanks for getting back to me. I've bought a new TOSHIBA 2TB HDD so I can add extra storage space, I've just got the new CoD MWF2 so need new space iot install it.

I'm getting the error msg "windows was unable to complete formatting".

I've looked at a few things online and tried going through the CMD prompt and that doesn't seem to work.
