Windows Store saying a 5570 has no DX11 support

So Far not too bad, managed to play Gears 4 and FH4 without problems, even the downloads for those games weren't long.

Metro Exodus has Issues though. Took ages to download and it doesn't support Directx11, even though the DX11 option is there it doesn't switch to it, suggesting the whole DX11 binaries are missing.

[/quote]Hence why I said these days. Even then, I can think of a handful of current GPUs that don't. 9 out of 10 times DX11 is the only way to reach high settings on these games. Even Civ V, a game from 2010 now,
will largely use medium settings at best with DX9. Its very old and really showing its age.

Which is why the next big engines are focused on DX11. Unreal Engine 4 is one of the big examples and Epic has a lot of influence with console hardware. And their engine is usually the most used across different devs and
big titles. DX11 has already been shifting away support from DX11 and as soon as this generation ends and multiplatform games don't have to support DX9 for consoles, there'll be a huge drop of any support for DX9.

PS4 does not support DX11 or any version of DirectX. Just like Mac and Linux machines don't support DirectX even though they can have the same hardware as Windows machines.

PS4 has its own API that can have the same or similar features to DirectX but it is not DirectX. It's Sony's own implementation of the features specifically for PS4. Just like OpenGL 4.x is equivalent to DirectX 11.x feature wise.

Optimization and support of the game itself:

Not all games fully support DirectX 12 Ultimate. Even if the game allows you to choose DX12, some old games or developers have not fully implemented all the features of DX12 Ultimate, resulting in them not fully utilizing the advantages of the hardware when using DX12.



API limitations or game engine issues:

When switching between DX11 and DX12, some games may not run stably enough on DirectX 12 due to the underlying engine architecture, compatibility issues, or optimization during development, and then fall back to DX11.
