Discus and support Windows 11 Sound devices switching while in games issue in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have a Acer Nitro N50-600 series PC. I recently upgraded to windows 11.     Windows 11 Sound devices switching while in games issue


    I have a Acer Nitro N50-600 series PC. I recently upgraded to windows 11. I hate it. It's not intuitive and half the time you can't just right click something to get to a settings menu. you have to hop around and navigate a million new pages just to get to anything.

    Anyway, My headphones are Hyper X Stinger by Realtek, and my speaker is the Vizio Soundbar 2920 it has a fiber optic cable that connects to the Samsung monitor I have, and it's technically bluetooth.

    I used to switch the Vizio speaker on, and they would connect, switching the audio from headphones to the speakers. And vice versa to go to headphones. Now, if I am in the middle of a game and I want to switch sources, it won't transfer audio over. I can't always tell if it switches ANY sound over, because I don't really have other things going when I'm gaming, but for sure the game audio doesn't work. So then I have to exit out of the game, and either have the speaker off for headphones, or on for speaker BEFORE I boot the game and stick with one.

    I'm not very adept at figuring out the whole drivers thing on the new windows 11 OS, but I'm pretty sure the ones that I can run a check for updates on keep saying they are up to date, or they tell me I need to check online for those on my own. But I didn't used to have to do that. I don't think. So I'm confused.

    Uninstall existing audio drivers, and install the latest audio driver only supported for windows 11.

    Sounds like a Driver issue to me, you should contact the manufacture of your device about windows 11 bugs

    My Realtek Audio speakers don't play any sound despite all signs indicating that they should be working properly? What could the issue be and how do I rectify it?

    The issue cannot be an out of date sound driver since I checked multiple times that that the sound driver is up to date.

    EDIT: Moved FROM Gaming and Xbox / Hardware and network / Controllers and accessories TO Windows / Windows 11 / Devices and drivers.

    Yes I’m still having the problem. Pertaining to your response, it only happens when I connect headphones because they are sound devices. It happens with any sound device (1) that has a mic, and (2) when I start a game. I’m convinced that it has to do with Windows automatically switching the device type to headset mode, thus causing the quality and connectibility to drop for a long period of time while Windows tries to identify what is actually happening

    I switched back to Windows 11 and am still having this issue, so it's definitely the driver.
