“Windows 11 PC cannot configure new elite series 2 controller

Have you tried to reinstall the Xbox Accessories app? If not yet, please do so.

I suggest as well to power cycle your controller. You could also try using a different USB cable and use different USB port from your computer. Check all the guide from here https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/...

Don't forget to check for your Windows updates and also go to Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates.

Would someone be able to assist me with my current issue?

I recently bought the series elite 2 controller and I cant seem to connect the controller directly to my pc with the cable to configure the buttons. I am able to connect it via Bluetooth. I have windows 11 and it has been updated to the latest software and I just downloaded the xbox accessories app. When the app is opened it fails to recognize my controller.

In order to fix this, kindly configure your Xbox Elite series 2 controller using the Xbox Accessories app on a Windows PC device, here's how:

To open the Xbox Accessories app on your console, press the Xbox button  to open the guide, select My Games & Apps> See all > Apps, and then choose Xbox Accessories.

To open the Xbox Accessories app on Windows 10/11, press the Start button , type Xbox Accessories or choose it from the list, and then sign in. If the app isn't installed on your PC, get it here:

Things to keep in mind:

The Xbox Accessories app is only available on Xbox consoles and Windows 10/11.

To configure the Series 2 controller, make sure your PC has the latest Windows updates:

In Windows 11, you decide when and how to get the latest updates to keep your device running smoothly and securely. To manage your options and see available updates, select Check for Windows updates. Or select Start > Settings > Windows Update.

Once you have configured your controller, kindly try to check your controller with the button mapping and see if it works on your console again.

We can try remapping the buttons of your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. As per screenshot, it shows that you are trying to configure the controller to your Windows device.

You can configure your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 using the Xbox Accessories app.

By the way, before performing other steps, make sure your Windows is up to date. Here is how.

• Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.
  
• On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.
  
• On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available
  

including optional updates for your device.

• Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
  
• Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.
  

Continue the steps below after making sure you have installed available and optional updates for your Windows.
