Windows 11 is not picking up input from xbox one controller

Xbox One controllers have worked on the PC from the start, providing you are using Windows 7 or up. Just use a USB cable to connect and it'll be automatically detected.

Makes it a wired controller sure but it means you can pick up original model controllers dirt cheap.

In Windows Sound Settings and Discord Voice Settings, have you selected Headset Microphone to be the default input?

I tested it with my controller on Windows 11 but connected with a cable and it worked perfectly.

Same issue here with a brand new wired controller. I have been playing on my 4 years old controller ( plug in and play, no batteries) and no issue.

But as soon as I play with the new one I start evading or sometimes shooting another target without my input!

It is def coming from the new controller, the chat and mic input must interfere in some way. I will pick up a new controller this morning, will see what happens with and without chat!

Thanks for posting! When wiring an Xbox One controller into a Windows PC to charge, the PC will switch to prioritizing that USB connection over the wireless dongle. When you unplug the controller from your PC, the PC may not pick up the wireless connection
and a pairing the controller again would be necessary.

The Xbox 360 controllers need a special wireless connector to work with Windows. The 360 controllers, different from the Xbox One controllers, do not send input signals over the charge and play cable to the computer or console, those are only for charging
the batteries in the controller.

this accessory for it to work on a PC or buy a specifically a wired Xbox 360 controller.
