that is unusual as i do this all the time with my games, i even swap them over to epic or back and forth too between epic, EA, steam and GOG, even ubisoft.

create a folder on your game drive called EA or whatever, copy or move the game directory from steams common folder and put into the EA folder.

open the EA desktop app and initiate the download of fifa, when it asks you where to install select the ea folder you created, wait 5 min and done, thats what i do. they are the same files and folder structure.

I did that. However after initiating the download, EA Desktop app said i need to uninstall the steam download because its "incompatible". I did that and initiated the download and pointed the installation directory to the one i created, containing the already installed files. But right now it seems that it's installing the game from scratch, all the files from the steam installation have the been cleared and replaced with new ones with a "DiP_Staged" suffix. Safe to say im screwed and have to redownload it eh?

Hello Visplane, unfortunately there is no way to prevent the installation, as much as it is the same game they belong to different platforms, and with this the format of the files are different, and also when doing a new installation it needs to create paths to folder and also in the Windows registry.
