Windows 11 Game Bar not disabling input when open

Hello everyone,

When I am playing a game and use the xbox game bar the game keeps registering input still, both on controller and mouse and keyboard. This did not used to happen but started maybe four or five months ago. reinstalling game bar and xbox services did not fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated, thank you

Hey that's what I thought too but it happens regardless of the status of the click-through setting. My windows is also fully up to date, 21h2 22000.708

Hello FlyingGrayson, have you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 21H2, because recently came out the latest update to Windows 10 and 11?

Updates are often seen as optional, Microsoft released major fixes this week, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed.

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update, and make all subsequent security updates.

Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.

ignore the one above, you basically have click though activated, to disable this go here

disable this and your good as normal again.

Thats exactly the issue. The microsoft game bar disables them apparently because they don't work with the game bar open. And theres no settings in the xbox controller app to "allow steam input" ect.

You can disable the Xbox button from launching the Game Bar in Windows 11 by following these steps:

Open the Xbox app.

Click on the Settings icon.

Select "Devices & Accessories."

Scroll down to the "Bluetooth & other devices" section.

Click on "Bluetooth & other devices."

Select "Xbox Wireless Controller."

Scroll down to the "Device settings" section.

Turn off the toggle switch next to "Open Game bar using Xbox button on a controller."

This should stop the Xbox button (or A button) from launching the Game Bar on Windows 11.
