Windows 11 capture feature keeps randomly recording the wrong screen

Please try and double check this first:
Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

Now go to windows settings > apps > search for game bar app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset. Restart the PC and try again

First make sure it's up to date to 22H2 version

If you haven't updated yet, click the link below, update, and make all subsequent security updates.

Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.

1 - Type cmd (Command Prompt) in the search bar of the Start menu and then click Run as administrator.

2 - Enter chkdsk /f/x/r/v

The system will ask you if you want to run CHKDSK after restarting the system, press Y on your keyboard and then type "Exit" and restart the computer, it will scan in DOS mode.

In Windows 11, the Game Bar capture time is set to a maximum of 30 seconds by default, and there is currently no built-in option to change it to 15 seconds. You can consider using third-party screen recording software that allows you to customize the recording duration to 15 seconds or any other desired length. These tools often provide more advanced features and flexibility compared to the built-in Game Bar capture function.

Remember to check the documentation or support resources for your chosen screen recording software to understand how to adjust the recording duration and any other settings specific to that application.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! We are sorry to hear about your issue. It sounds as though the "capture audio when recording a game" option may be turn off on your pc. TO activate this setting on Windows 10/11 go to Start/Settings/Gaming/Captures and turn this feature on.

Use OBS to record and set as display capture, gamebar will only capture application window and it ignores a lot of overlays, CAD apparently loves to draw elements onto overlay which some screen recorders ignore or cannot record. OBS will capture most but will also miss some.
