Windows 11 can't cast to Xbox Series X

Hello,

I've been attempting to cast my laptop to my Xbox Series X using the Wireless Display App, and it never seems to work (or maybe it does, but then it disconnects immediately). I can cast successfully from my phone to my Xbox without the cast disconnecting, but I can't my laptop to cast to my Xbox. I'm able to cast my phone to my laptop. Tried to cast my laptop to my One S and it was still unsuccessful.
When I click the settings in the Wireless Display App and view "Allowed Devices", I can see my laptop and my phone. Do I have to configure something on my laptop or my console? The farthest I got was messing around in my laptop's projection settings, trying to cast my laptop to my Xbox once more, and then getting a gray screen on my tv that displayed a mouse cursor that I could control with my Bluetooth mouse, but nothing more.

I am having this exact issue. I have an alienware m15 from 2020. It had Windows 10 and casted perfectly to my One X and then later the Series X that I bought. I was hesitant about updating to Windows 11, but I went ahead and did. Now I can't cast to my Series X. They're on the same network, they're fully updated, and the networking is working perfectly fine. The problem has to be on the OS because it's the only thing that changed.

Ok, but isn't my laptop using miracast services to cast to other devices? It should be possible to do it between my laptop and console, and there are various examples demonstrating this (although from what I've found it's casting windows 10 to an xbox one)

On the Microsoft Store for the Wireless Display App, it says "Microsoft's Wireless Display app lets you wirelessly project your Windows or Android based devices to your Xbox One".

The wireless display app is for caatiing TO A Computler not from

What you want is an OG xbox one with hdmi in and out

Or use miracast /dlna to cast media

No consoles can host a computer Irs the other way around

So, even if I was successful, it would still be laggy. Alright, thank you then, at least it was worth a try.

Thats completely different you are mistaking how that app works

Consoles.cant accept signals from other devices

Consoles.can remote play on pc and mobile.but not the other way around

Its a receiving app.NOT casting app

Pc doesnt use wireless display to cast

It's used to receive Windows has its own protocols which it uses to.cast.same.with Linux and Mac os or phones remote.desktop

And pc doesn't do.games well that way From phone

You need remote.desktop app on your console

You can't cast video games from your PC to any device you can only use media

You can remote desktop with latency

But using games on your pc onto your console ends badly for you

The latency would be bad and you will lose.frame rates same with remote play

You are pushing data that is normal handled by your gpu to be processed by something with less power hence the latency on
