Windows 10 Xbox app will not find Xbox One.

I have ethernet cables hooked up to both my Xbox One and Computer from a wireless router. I have attempted to enter my Xbox's IP. Both devices are using separate SSID names. The IP when entered shows the message "We couldn't find an Xbox One console with
the IP address provided." I can give any more information if needed and have tried restarting both devices as well as the router. The Xbox One device does not show up on my network. Any help will be extremely appreciated.

Windows 10 Mobile is coming to Xbox One. Microsoft hoped that the release will encourage more developers to create apps for the mobile platform. The new interface looks the same with the Windows 10 Xbox app. However, one fourth of the screen will still be occupied by advertisement.

Changing gamer tag

You can't change a gamertag into a previously owned one but you could sign in to the Windows 10 Xbox app with the old one though.

I also am having this issue, I have tried wired/wireless have set my xbox to a static IP as well. I used to be able to stream I don't know what has changed but its frustrating.

 

Yeah, i'm having the same problem too. I've tried everything on the Xbox support page, but it still wont work. Any ideas???

 

same issue here. it seems to be a problem more on the app side then the xbox one side

My router was attaching my PC to 5Ghz SSID and my XB1 to 2.4Ghz SSID when I initially setup my systems. I simply logged into my router, turned off 2.4Ghz, rebooted all systems (including router) and everything worked for me. I cannot vouch that this will
solve your issue, but chances are one is connecting to a separate SSID and the networks are separate in the router settings. The router settings may be the real issue here, not the app. Even hardwired my PC was connecting to a separate SSID, which baffled
me outright, but hey, I did get it resolved disabling the 2.4Ghz side of things until it all worked.

When I reinitialized the 2.4 SSID it did not revert back to previous settings and everything is working well for me.

 

I logged into my router both my Xbox 1 and Laptop are both on the 5Ghz network and no change.

 

Ok, I have finally found a fix that worked for me. This was a very odd solution that took me allot of time to find. All I did was rename my Xbox One and it started working. Not sure why it didn't work before or how this affected it but gladly it helped.

 

Perfect initially nothing but then after a minute or so my Xbox popped up in the app thanks for your help! Pity Microsoft couldnt have replied and helped!

 

I just had the same problem. Renaming XboxOne on the console worked for me. Thank you.

I noticed changing the name required the console to be reset. I wonder if just the hard reset is what fixes the problem. Maybe someone reading this with the same problem can try that first.
