Windows 10 XBOX app mute mic for party chat hotkey

it could also be that if you are in party Chat, but join a game lobby, your mic will show as muted because you are in a party. Some games will display the mic as muted when you are in XBL party chat.

Im having the same issue as DomNic... The xbox app on windows 10 PC was working fine yesterday with my headset. Tried to party today for chat and nothing.... If I mute myself, I cannot unmute.

It's almost a mute point on Xbox since we still don't have push to talk like PC players. Most Xbox players opt to use Party Chat because of this. As a PL Athena 10, I make an effort to stay in Prox chat but anytime it looks like PvP is about to kick off,
me and my crewmates switch to party chat. We have two unassigned buttons (left and right D-pad) to use as hotkeys, not sure why we don't have a PTT option.

The best way I've found to share my party chat from my xbox to a stream or game recording, is having a secondary account logged in on my Xbox Companion App on my PC, and joining the party chat with that. just remember to mute its mic.

The troubleshooting steps I have taken are resetting the Xbox app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, checking permissions and made sure the app is up to date. The mic works fine in the game bar except for the party overlay, I can click the mute/unmute button but it has no effect. My headset is a Corsair Void Elite and is connected via the Corsair wireless USB dongle. I have tested my mic works multiple times through windows and the Xbox app itself, and I have no problems with any other app just the Xbox app party chat.
