Windows 10 Xbox Accessories App Not Saving Layouts

The Windows 10 Xbox Accessories App on my gaming PC stopped working this morning and I've tried everything but I can't get it to work. I can go into the app, make a layout for the controller, and then assign that to a slot. However, once I go back and test it out it's like I didn't even make any changes to the button layout. I have no idea how to fix this. The Xbox Accessories on my Xbox works fine though. I've tried power cycling the controller, unplugging the wireless adapter/plugging it back in, resetting the Windows 10 accessories app in the settings, etc. One thing that I did try that worked is downloading the Windows 10 Xbox Accessories App on my other (non-gaming) PC, and plugging the wireless adapter in and it worked, it saved the loadout unlike the app on my other PC.

Why is it working on my main pc and not my gaming pc? When I got the controller (Elite) I’m trying to use, I only used it on my gaming PC until yesterday when the controller that came with my Series X broke, and then I had to sync the elite controller I was using on my gaming PC to my Xbox. I don't know if this has anything to do with it not working anymore or not. I hope that's not the reason because you should be able to use a controller on both PC and Xbox with no issue.

Let's manually update the controllers on your Windows 10 PC through the Xbox Accessories app. To proceed, kindly download the "Xbox Accessories" app from the
Windows Store. This is a separate app from the Xbox app. The app will enable you to update your controller. Refer to How
to update your Xbox One Controller on Windows 10 for the steps.

Its in the accessory app on Xbox. You can adjust settings there. If on a PC you need to install the Xbox accessories app in Windows 10. Good luck!

Are you speaking of the Xbox Accessories app? Just search for "Xbox Accessories" in the Windows 10 Store and you can use that app to configure your Elite controller for your Windows 10 device.
