Windows 10 Unable to accept terms of service for an adult

I recently got a new Windows 10 computer. I previously had a number of games in my Microsoft account on my old 8.1 computer.

I am logged in to my new machine under my Microsoft account. If I run the Xbox app, it shows that I am logged in. I can log out and log back in.

However if I try to run a Microsoft game, e.g. Taptiles, the icon on the top right of the game shows "Xbox Games: Signing in...".

Then it shows "Our terms of service have been updated. Please start the Xbox Games app to accept the new Terms of Service."

So, I can't play any of my games. I have logged into the xbox website as well. Nothing is prompting me for terms of service.

How am I supposed to accept the Terms of Service?

I have seen other posts related to this problem where the person is a child and the parent has to accept the terms. However I am an adult and that is not my problem.

Do you know the Parental Address? If you don't have the email address of the parental account, then try to sign in on the Xbox - it will show it to you in the ToU process.

Then, take the parental address to
account.live.com/.../reset and try to change the password.

If-when that fails, then go through the steps at
http://account.live.com/acsr then take a look for my 6:18PM post at the bottom of

forums.xbox.com/.../367571.aspx for the remaining steps.

Unable to accept new Terms of Service

It seems others have had this issue, but I have yet to find an answer directly to my problem.

I am unable to accept the new terms of service due to needing parental approval. I however have no idea what the email address or password of this parent account would be, and when I turn on my xbox to try to find what this email would be when it requires
the password of this parent account, nothing is there. I am 18, and normally would remove this parental account from my own and upgrade it if not for the fact that to do this, I need to sign into Xbox LIVE. I can't sign into Xbox LIVE without first accepting
the new terms of service, which starts this cycle over again. Since I can't recover a password from an unknown email that cannot be found (on my own), I am unsure of what to do. I know my own WLID and it works fine, it's this parental account that I have no
information on at all that is the problem.

yo everyone, i had the same problem. my account, although im 18, was tied to my parent account, and i couldnt access this parent account since my brother, who created the "parent account" couldnt remember any of the details like security question and what
not. but yesterday i called the (800) 4MY-XBOX and they transferred me to the support line i guess. and they took down my information, like my own gamertag and email, the parental email that i couldnt access, and my console id. and they sent it to their "investigation
team" so they could determine whether to send me a reset password link. and today, i got the reset password link, and all is well. i actually got this problem fixed and would suggest that you guys call the number again. also, i would suggest that others who
called (800) 4MY-XBOX weeks ago, should call them again, because they recently improved on their ability to help customers who had this problem.

btw, if you see this exact comment on other threads, im not a bot. im just trying to spread this news around.

I am also having a similar problem. I have never had a parental account linked to my own, it was always just a parental password associated with my own account. It fills in my own email for the parent account on the xbox when i go to accept it but it wont
accept my password.

Hi there! Can you please try opening Xbox.com in a private browsing window and log in directly to the adult account and try to accept the terms that way?
