Unfortunately there is no way to convert Minecraft Windows 10 Edition to the Java Edition offered by Mojang. Your only option would be to attempt a refund request but it is not very likely a refund will be granted for the reason you stated. For a refund
request, you should contact Xbox customer support for your region and they will direct you on how to do so.

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?

If its mods that is showcased/used by most Youtubers it will not be able to be installed on the Windows 10 version. As they mostly use the Java edition to do playthroughs etc.

There is however addons for Windows 10 edition.

Is your friend using the Java Edition or the Windows 10 Edition/Bedrock?

If Java, that version is not cross-play compatible.

Is it compatible ? And i want to download the Windows 10 edition, not Java edition.
