    Windows 10 App Party Chat Won't Stay Connected (0x89231806)


    This has been occurring since yesterday. Also, NAT keeps switching from moderate to strict.

    Before you recommend the troubleshooting, please browse both this forum and the Xbox reddit page as it appears to be a widespread issue that's not isolated to myself. Although the Xbox App on Windows 10 reflects a moderate NAT, both Xboxes in my house have
    open. Sometimes the app prompts the error 0x89231806. So yes, I
    have already went through the troubleshooting settings that are listed on the Xbox Website. After they did not suffice, i searched online to see that I was not the only one who is having this issue with the Xbox App since yesterday.

    All I am looking for is some acknowledgement from someone on Microsoft Support to confirm there is currently an issue instead of constantly being told that it's my Internet that is the issue (as the issue is isolated only to the Xbox App on Windows, nothing
    else) and being redirected to the troubleshooting when a quick search shows there are plenty of people having a problem with the app itself since yesterday. Please assist.

    The party chat isn't working on my windows 10 pc

    When i try to join / create a party chat on the windows 10 xbox app it says: Your network blocks party chat [0x89231806]

    I didnt even know there was a BETA version... I am playing on teh Xbox App that was installed with my Windows 10. It is version 11.11.19012.00000

    Randomly again today, My Xbox Finally is seen by the app and I was able to connect. Now The issue is Party Chat STILL does not work. I try to connect to multiple friends and each time it gives me "Your Network Settings are Block Chat [0x89231806]". Well
    my NAT settings are open and I can party chat fine from my Xbox... cannot connect to others on Xbox via the app.

    No it doesn't mean you need an Xbox with Live Gold. The code 0x89231806:
    Your network settings block the Party Chat.

    This may mean that the Internet connection between your Xbox console and the other party members is failing. This often happens because of incompatible Network Address Translation
    (NAT) types.

    Hello Ported,

    No, you do not need to be streaming in order to use party chat. You can use party chat directly from the Windows 10 app.

    As regards Minecraft, unfortunately there the answer is no. You cannot at this time connect to people on Minecraft Xbox One from the Windows 10 version.
